Visiting professor, Dr. Karl Westfall is enjoying Mozambican hospitality and heat this month! He has been enjoying learning Portuguese phrases like Bom dia and listening to the students sing in harmony at the start of classes. His class on Major Prophets has been introducing key concepts and word pictures to the Mozambican students. Did you know that two things God did not like in Isaiah’s day were oppression and idolatry?

As the College prepares for a day of fasting later this month, Dr. Westfall reminded us that in Isaiah 58 that fasting is not just a ritual and not just to humble ourselves, but that it must change our behavior. It should encourage us to stand against injustice and to help the poor.
